Explore the backcountry on some 4 wheel drive roads. Fish Bull Creek off the Lake of the Woods Trail.  For an awesome family fun festival, partake in the Color Sunday pilgrimage with other folks.

Bike ‘till You Drop

Grand Junction might just be one of the best biking towns in the west.  Of course, a visit to the Lunch Loops are a must and an easy morning or afternoon activity due to their proximity to town.  If you’ve got beginner bikers in two, check out the Three Sisters trail system near by. If you’re more into speed, then grab the old road bike and tour Colorado National Monument.

Soak Up the Sun

Summer temperatures in Grand Junction can easily reach triple digits.  On hot, summer days, head over to the Colorado River and enjoy some stand up paddle boarding. There are a number of stand up paddle board rental shops in Grand Junction that offer everything from group rates to SUP yoga lessons.  Just make sure to pack the sunscreen!

Giddyup!

Throw on your cowboy boots and tour the beautiful surrounding area of Grand Junction from the saddle.  You’ll truly feel like you’ve been transported to the Old West. Everyone in the family will enjoy viewing the natural landscape on horseback.  You might even get the chance to view wild mustangs.
