What to do this Weekend in Grand Junction!

It’s almost Friday and it’s time to start thinking about making some plans for this weekend. Here are a few of the area happenings to check out.

Pack your picnic blanket or chairs and head on over to Lincoln Park for Movies in the Park. This event begins at 7 pm. The feature movie is Jumanji, which will begin as soon as the sun goes down. This is a kid friendly event and there will be food trucks on site.

Opening night of the Special Olympics Colorado Summer Games begins Friday night at Lincoln Park Stadium. This inspiring event will host more than 1200 athletes with disabilities from all over the state of Colorado. Saturday and Sunday, they will compete in track and Field, gymnastics, powerlifting, swimming and soccer events.

Start your Saturday morning with lots of pancakes! The Kiwanis Club of Grand Junction is hosting their 51st Pancake Day and Fun Fest at the Two Rivers Convention Center from 6:00am-2:00pm. This event promises much more than pancakes, there will be live music, a silent auction and activity booths for kids. All the money raised in this event go to nonprofits to help local children.

At the Mesa County Fairgrounds, the Girlfriends Wandering Near & Far is being held Saturday from 10am-5pm. Bring your girlfriends and prepare to be inspired at this fun shopping event, featuring one of a kind crafts, home décor, and so much more.

Looking for the freshest fruit and veggies? The Farmers Market @ Mesa Hall opens at 2:30pm and will have not only Colorado’s best produce but also hand-crafted arts and crafts, music and food trucks.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Palisade Bluegrass & Roots Music Festival is being held at Riverbend Park. Spend the evening with beautiful views, real bluegrass and roots music. This is a family friendly event so bring the kids, but pets are not allowed. There will be food and beverage vendors on site.
