The Advantages and Disadvantages of Installing a Hot Tub
Oh the luxury that a hot tub can bring to your life, however there are some things to consider before adding one to your back porch.
ADVANTAGES
A PLACE TO ENTERTAIN
Do you want your house to be the one at which all the teenagers (and adults) want to have a partyt? Add a hot tub. It doesn't have as much upkeep as a pool, but can be just as fun!
RESTORATION OF FLEXIBILITY
As we age, we loose flexibility. Warm water creates hydrostatic pressure which then reduces joint inflammation and helps mobility!
RELAXATION AND REJUVENATION
Did you know that a hot tub offers palpable healing properties? It can relieve stress and decrease muscle soreness. It has also been proven to help decrease migraine headaches, fatigue, and muscle tension. Can you think of anything better than soaking in a hot tub after a long day at work?
DISADVANTAGES
THE COST
I am not just talking about the upfront cost of buying the hot tub. Make sure you factor in the cost of chemicals, water usage, and other maintenance that may need to be done. Oh, and don't forget the additional electricity required for heating it!
INSTALLATION FEE
Unless you are ridiculously strong, you will need a crane to put the hot tub on your deck. You also may need to destroy a portion of your fence in order to get it in to your backyard. These are all important factors to consider.
MOSQUITOES
That word right there deters me from getting a hot tub! If mosquitoes are prevalent in your area, a water feature may not be the best addition to your backyard. In addition to mosquitoes, mice and other rodents love the installation of the hot tub as a space to bury their little bodies. No thank you.
