Grand Junction Nonprofit Spotlight: Roice-Hurst Humane Society

What better way to start off the month than with an amazing local nonprofit?! Our team loves Roice-Hurst Humane Society and we have loved doing events with them with Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties as well as Marge (on our team) volunteers there regularly. So how can you get involved in this amazing nonprofit? Read on!

A little background on this Grand Junction Humane Society: this animal shelter was opened in 1963 and is now an adoption center that provides loving care for homeless dogs and cats and services to the community aimed at keeping pets in their homes. They care for the animals no matter how long it takes and never euthanize them. Beyond providing events for the community, they also offer low-cost vaccination clinics that you can volunteer to help with.

Beyond the vaccination clinic, you can also volunteer at off-site adoptions and their fund-raising events throughout the year. If you prefer more hands-on volunteer work, you can sign up to walk dogs, bath and groom the kitties and puppies, or transport the animals to vets’ office and special events. They are also always looking for office help answering phones, greeting visitors, helping with data entry, and More. Learn more about the volunteer opportunities here.
