What to do this Weekend in Fruita


Beginning May 4th, the 23rd annual Fruita Fat Tire Festival will commence! Individuals who partake in mountain biking from all over the world join in on this exciting festival to indulge in everything that goes on over this weekend. Enjoy live music on Friday and Saturday evening, and cruise around the bike expo, also known to be the best in the state.

The bike demo and expo is held at 18 Road Trailhead North Fruita Desert on May 4th through 6th. Consider the first day of this event the kickoff to the adventurous mountain bike season.

Enjoy a guided ride in the afternoon on May 4th and May 5th which leads you to Prime Cut Trail and brings you back down Kessel Run the first day, and back down Pumps Bumps and Roller trail the second day. Following the guided ride, comes the Fruita Street Party. Live music, a beer garden, and plenty of fellow mountain bike enthusiasts to swap stories and tips with.

If you are looking to step away from it all for a moment, check out some of the awesome restaurants in Fruita including Fiesta Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant, Camilla’s Kaffe or Dragon Treasure (Chinese food). If you fall in love with the town and decide you want to start your own restaurant, check out this property that is CURRENTLY ON THE MARKET in the heart of Fruita. Festival passes are available for purchase which include commutative souvenirs and access to the expos and guided rides. You can also just purchase a demo pass the day of if you’re interested in checking out the demo portions of this event. This is something you don’t want to miss! Not only will you have a great time and make new friends that could lead you to exploring new trails, but there will be over 50 companies in the biking industry displaying their products and services. If you’re new to the mountain biking world, or seasoned, the Fat Tire Festival is definitely for all levels.
