August Featured Nonprofit - Hilltop Residential Youth Services

It seemed appropriate that on International Youth Day we feature one of the great nonprofits in Grand Junction serving our youth -- Hilltop Residential Youth Services!

Hilltop's mission is to provide "education, treatment, and recreational opportunities that empower and enrich all individuals to face life’s challenges with confidence and competence." In this article we will break down some of their amazing programs!

RESIDENTIAL YOUTH SERVICES

RYS is a 22-bed treatment center for youth who have encountered difficulties at home.  It is located on a 7-acre campus in Grand Junction, Colorado and beyond just a bed to sleep in and food on the table, they provide a Therapeutic Day Treatment, Experiential Learning, and Transitional Living for kids ages 12-18.

CHILDREN, YOUTH & FAMILIES

RYS serves more than just youth; They provide access to prenatal care, parenting support, youth behavioral and mental health care, teen pregnancy prevention, and family mentors. Obviously if the child is in a safe and healthy environment, it is best to have them stay with their family, so RYS does their best to make that happen!

ADULTS

Just like their programs for children and youth, their programs for adults are vast. They have domestic violence services, job assistance and training, residential care for adults with traumatic brain injuries, and help accessing affordable health care.

SENIORS

But it doesn't stop there! RYS serves the seniors in our community with independent and assisted living options, and dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
